Unless I can find a way to make my stock rear bumper look better (any suggestions?), I'm interested in replacing it. I have an SE, so I'd like to keep things as light as possible. Other than Savvy, which looks great but expensive, does anyone have any recommendations?

UPDATE: Thanks to some recommendations in the posts below, I'm making this table. Will soon re-arrange in order from lightest to heaviest. Since my main concern is weight, this table won't be helpful to others who are more interested in, say, strength.

Wow that plate bumper does look nice.

You could do the same thing with some shackle mounts. you could just have them welded onto the stock bumper with a piece of flat steel reinforcing along the back. cause that stock bumper will like the bend very very easy.

Here's my home-made one (in primer). Just flat stock, with holes and tabs.
Ignore the receiver, that only worked because it's an LJ.

Check out the one from Goliath. That's the one I went with and I get tons of complements on it. It wasn't that heavy.

I've got this one from Genright on my YJ SE..along with a MetalCloak aluminum front bumper

here's the pic from the site...mine is an older version that has 4 holes evenly spaced across the back, that they offered clear LED lights for....you're not going to find one much lighter than this kinda' thing (unless someone copies it in aluminum)

I got it because I was going to run the spare tire carrier with it..but changed my mind, went back to 31's, and strapped the spare tire to the floor in the back instead

Ok, I made this list. Waiting to hear back from NextVenture and GenRight.

Let me know if I am missing any other lightweight options.

I really like my Next Venture rear. The wrapped ends definitely beef it up. I like the lower profile better than the Swag, which I had on my last LJ. And I love that it has safety chain attachment points.

Looking for a lightweight option that still allows towing myself… have a smittybuilt SRC one (without tire carrier) right now…

This is a primary reason I went with a UCF rear bumper. It was light (41lbs), fit my style likes, and could tow. FWIW, it is anchored by 10 bolts. You could do more, but I saw anything more than that as overkill+.

... And I like that one too. I just need to start a GoFundMe page for my new rear bumper.
