I recently bought a 2000 TJ that had one bolt and some terrible welds holding each of the stabilizer bar retainers to the frame. I’m ready to reattach the stabilizer bar and looking for input on the best way to bolt the retainers to the frame. I had to remove the welded nuts on the inside of the frame. Now I just have holes in the frame. Looking for ideas on how to approach the nuts that go inside the frame. I don’t want to deal with those nuts just spinning when I take the traction bar off again. I was thinking of welding wings to the nuts but thought y’all might have better ideas. Thanks in advance!

Cut a piece of metal weld two nuts to it, drill a hole in the frame between the two stabilizer bar holes. Remove the front bumper slide the plate inside the frame. Bolt the plate to the frame. Weld the plate through the hole drilled in the frame.

What I want to know is how did you remove the welded nuts on the inside of the frame?

It was surprising easy-a little pounding and prying and they came right out. I was able to save two but the other two were removed (along with old broken bolts).

If the bolt diameter and thread is the same as the skid plate you could order some inserts from BMB and use those.

They are not the same. Those are 10mm and the closest we have is 12mm. It wouldn't be the end of the world to fetch up some 3/8-16 flanged nutserts and use those. I have some of those not on the website we could easily send out.
