I’m finally getting around to rehearing the HP Dana 30 I pulled from a 99 XJ. I’m going from the stock 3.55 to 4.56 and using Revolution gears and their master install kit. Before I press the inner bearing on, I had a question about the oil slinger. The one included in the revolution kit is significantly larger than the stock one. It also isn’t completely flat like the stock one. I tried to call them, but they’re closed until Monday. Does anyone know if this is by design? Should I reuse the stock one instead? I’m just looking for advice from anyone who has used the same install kit. Thanks.

Measure the thickness compared to the old one. This slinger will count as part of your shim stack. Nothing wrong with using the old one but if it's too thick (puts pinion too deep), then you'll have to remove it.

Yea the new one is definitely thicker than the old one. I was more worried about the size of it and the bend it has. I guess I’ll just put it together and see if I have any clearance issues.

How much thicker? Do you have a clamshell puller?
