Removing bumper caps

Who else has done this? Mine are getting a little worn so I'm thinking about it.

I think Mopar makes rock crawler style caps if you don't want the jugs. I've never seen the point but whatever you're into. I kept the jugs on mine the whole time I ran stock bumpers. I even replaced my front bumper twice and re-used the jugs, they take a beating and keep holding whatever they were designed to hold, air? I mean the jugs, the bumper doesn't take a beating at all. I think it looks okay, no need to dress it up. Personally I really enjoy seeing a stock TJ bumper with the stock lights, if you don't need more it's a really clean look.

I did it and undid it. It gives the back an unfinished look and the plastic ends actually provide some pretty good protection for front fenders and rear tub corners.

The nice thing is you can easily go back if you choose.

I wanted custom bumpers but want to keep this thing as light as I can. So this was my compromise. Omix caps I got from Quadratec.

I took mine off, and then cut the bumper because I wanted a stubby bumper. I really like the look. Then I added the Tomken winch plate and really liked the way it looks!!!!

Stuck a Smittybuilt plate and a Warn on mine

I took the milk jugs off, cut the bumper down, filled the holes, painted and put the end caps on mine then mounted a winch plate and a savvy winch guard…

cut three inches off each side of the front... Added end caps front and rear.
