Replace EVAP canister?

Couldn't find another post on it. But has anyone replaced the evap canister? Is it easy to do? My guess is it is. In which case a little guidance would be much appreciated if I can do it myself. When I do get a new engine for my jeep that's something else that will have to be done. Mechanic's guess anyway because I have an emissions code on my idiot light and I'm sure the charcoal filter isn't doing any good because it's so old.

What's the actual CEL code you're getting? It could be a leak in the purge solenoid valve.

Buy a new gas cap from local dealer first.

This was the case for my buddies Jeep.

Before you go and replace the evap canister because the mechanic is guess, have a smoke test performed. That will tell you exactly where the leak is and will save you from replacing parts that don't need replacing.
