Replacement Seats for Jeep Wrangler TJ

I found manual seats for the LJ, the TJ’s are powered and wired up

Those look great. (y)

Did they come with seat heaters? I installed DORMAN kits in one set of my Tiburon seats and am about to do another. It's a pretty easy job and well worth the effort. The kit # for anyone who is interested is 628-040. You need one kit for each seat and it does both the seat bottom and back rest. Amazon used to have them but I got the second set from Rock Auto.

I'm curious to know if anyone has tried Fiero seats. They're a big hit with the hot rod crowd partly because they have speakers built in to the head rests. My Brother had a Fiero and said the seats are usually the first item to go at the pick & pulls. I drove his Fiero and they were pretty comfortable and about "TJ size".

I'm looking to replace my stock seats in my 99 TJ. What seat did you end up buying?
Just fyi. 03-06 tj seats are direct swap. And i find them to be a huge upgrade over the old early model ones. Tjey run around $300-$400 a set at a junkyard. Try carparts to search junkyard. I forget the url.

But depending on your needs a different seat may be a better option. Im 6'4" and find the late model seats to be bery very comfortable. The lumbar bilge fits my back just right. And i have a bad back.

It looks like some of the Corbeau offerings are not as expensive as I thought. I was reading the price per pair as price per seat. I'm going to see if there are any dealers in the area that have them in stock so I can actually plop my butt into them.
I think someone had gotten into an accident with some corbeau seats and the reclining mechanism failed and him and his wife got launched backwards. I was reading on a forum. You can find it if you search enough

I went to visit prp here in SoCal. The daily driver is snug as hell but not comfortable for me to be a true daily. 6’ 220lbs

The enduro elite was nice as it reclines but it didn’t hug me all that well. Not enough for me to buy it.

I sat in a tj that had recaro specialist. The most comfortable and secure seat I’ve been in. Great bolstering that kept me in. Fully reclinable. But at 1k/ seat. It ain’t cheap. But I wouldn’t get anything but that at this point.

Ok, so I’m looking for a good set of seats (actually just one seat) that would be near identical in shape and size to the TJ seats. My drivers side seat has lost most cushion, although still in good shape. To keep them looking good I put on quadratic cloth seat covers and really like them, also added seat heaters under the covers so have nice looking heated seats. As I cannot stand unmatching things (if I do one have to do all four), and not wanting to spend a lot, I figured if I can find an aftermarket seat that is nearly identical in size and shape, I could just use the same seat cover and all would be well with the world!

Any ideas? I’ve seen a few that look close, but not all provide actual measurements. Comfort and support are important as well.

Thanks!

Just go to car-parts.com and buy a good used one. Or better yet look local so you can see and feel it in person. I replaced both my front seats with very good quality late model tj seats. For around $400 including shipping.

Factory seats from great, like-new condition to questionable condition can be found on ebay all day long.

HI All, Can anyone suggest a direct bolt-on replacement for my 2000 TJ driver seat? The springs are killing my arse :) TIA

2003-2006 are way more comfortable IMHO. And a direct bolt in. Buy with the bases though. You can easily find a set on www.car-parts.com . Shipping shouldn't be that bad. If for some reason you can't find a set locally. Mine were $250 for two fronts and $150 shipping. Way better seats.

Thanks guys- I am looking to order an aftermarket seat that can be just "swapped" out. I am limited to one arm so the easier the better as I learn to deal with becoming a lefty.
