Replacing lift kit components

Okay so after a lot of thought I’m ready to bite the bullet and rebuild my Jeep lift. I bought my Jeep with a 5.5” RE long arm lift kit that is worn out. I am sick and tired of it so I am looking for suggestions on moving forward with a better setup.

So far I know I’ll need new springs (Currie 4”) and shocks (Rancho 5000X), as well as a 1.25” body lift. My biggest concern is replacing the control arms since the PO hacked off the stock LCA frame mounts for the RE skid plate.

Can someone point me in the right direction? Any help is appreciated.

Perfect time to go for the Savey mid-term kit. You already have the stock frame mounts off. And (from what I have heard) offer about the best solution available for a TJ. Another option is if you like your long arms, just get the end bushings or joints replaced/ rebuilt and spend the savings on a high end set of shocks. What exactly are your current set of springs doing that you want to replace them?

I agree, if you have the money and the means, now is a perfect time for a Savvy mid-arm.

I don't know how you intend on using it, but being as though the control arm brackets are gone, it makes sense to go with the Savvy kit since it comes with new control arm mounts anyways.

It ain't cheap, but having had two of the Savvy mid-arm rigs so far, I can tell you that it's a damn fine kit and will do just about anything you want it to do.
 
I personally feel like my Jeep is too high and I would like to bring it down a little while. And I know that rubicon express lifts aren’t exactly the best quality so I would like to replace those parts with something better.

This is my first Jeep and currently my daily driver so I don’t get off-road as much as I like, but I would like it to be capable enough to handle going on more trips without having to worry about shitty RE parts failing.
 
I like the idea of a mid-arm kit but I’m not sure if I wheel enough to justify the cost and labor of doing something like that. I still consider myself a beginner just trying to get a feel for off-roading.

But on the flip side, would the price of adding brackets, springs, short arms, and replacing other RE parts with Currie parts pretty much cost as much as going to the mid arm kit?

I just want a nice Jeep that handles well on/off-road, since it is still my DD.
 
A good riding offroad setup is also a good riding onroad setup too (when done correctly) . The Savey will give you both. I know it is very expensive, but it is a one and done. And if this offroad stuff ends up not for you, the Savey will hold its value at resale.
It would definitely be cheaper to go parts and pieces with a short arm setup, but honestly, if you are trying to keep the checkbook alive then just rebuild you long arms, and if you want a smaller lift just get new springs (and shocks) and go that way. If you decide that the TJ is for you then add some short arms later on.
Just my opinion.

Thank you for the advice! I actually placed an order for new 4” springs and rancho shocks, so I’m hoping they help out and then go from there. I think I’ll stick it out with these long arms until I can save up for that mid arm upgrade kit. Hopefully by then I’ll have enough practice with welding and fab to install it myself LOL.
