I figured this is as good of a place as any to ask:

I bought my first riding mower this year and I’m curious as to others’ experiences with towing dethatchers? For reference, I’ve got a Cub Cadet XT1.

No replies?! What?!
After many years, my Craftsman got tired. I bought a new Husqvarna about 4 months ago. I just mow with it as it is.

I don't think dethatching is a good practice these days. Aerating is a better method at least that is what I have been reading these days.

Don’t think its really needed.. you have the option of bagging the clippings and that should do if that is your goal of keeping the thatch out of ur yard.. like gg1 stated aerating is best.
