Trying to pull the trigger on rims and tires for my TJ w/ 4" Rough Country lift. Hitting a brick wall trying to decide on a combination that will look good and still perform well as a DD and an occasional off-road weekend.

I'm leaning towards 33's A/T Nitto

Any suggestions ?

Aiming at the same target myself (TJ is a DD) I run BFGs KO2s and I’m happy with their overall performance. Most guys here from what I know would suggest KO2s or duratracks for an all around tire.

Rims
  1. Aluminum is lighter than steel and won't bend if you happen to catch the lip on a rock on the trail
  2. 3.75" - 4" of backspacing is ideal to make sure you don't rub suspension components or fenders; disregard offset
  3. C rated tires will ride softer than D or E
  4. 15 x 8 wheels open the door to the widest selection of C rated tires
  5. 15x8 wheels are better than 15x10 for avoiding losing a bead if you air down off road

Tires
  1. BFG KO2 and Duratracs seem pretty well liked here
  2. Any of the big name brand tire brands should do well (BFG, Goodyear, General, Cooper, etc.); I run General Grabber ATX and have been really pleased with them
  3. A 10.5" wide tire will provide better road manners - but that also limits options in the 33" tire range
