Rocky Mountain Billy Goat Build

Hey I know I’m going to sound ignorant but tell me are there really places that you can go and lay down and see that at night?

I’m totally serious

Anywhere really dark with no artificial light. One year when we were out on the beach at Ocracoke we turned all the lights off and just sit there for a bit to let our eyes adjust. It was amazing.

You have to remember if Andy is out in a field in the middle of the night and he looks up, he’ll just see his cousin staring back at him.

The elk are so elusive this year they may as well be goddamn fairies.

Yes there are.

Images can't quite capture what the eye can, but yes that view is very close to real. No moon, far up in the mountains, and let your eyes adjust for a while.

I absolutely love it

I had a similar experience in the high desert in Utah-

It made me really appreciate that there is a movement in places where the dark night sky is basically protected.

It’s like this in a lot of Wyoming. It was the norm for me growing up.
Also been like this in Moab the past couple of days.

I always look forward to the night sky when I go back to Wyoming. The stars are visible like this almost across the entire state.

Same when I'm visiting my in-laws in the Keweenaw Penisula. We don't have the elevation to get above the clouds though, so its not every night.

What's up? Do you have a #3 kiddo on the way?
I'd hate to see a cool project go to the wayside, whether it be Jeep or hotrod or whatever.
