Rocky Mountain Billy Goat Build

And that's @tworley getting the horizontal welds done. It was like my first day of welding on those 🙄

You guys are a hell of a tag team. We will have to add some weld porn images.

Front is cycled, clearanced, and torqued back up after this. Notice the shaving needed on the driver side case spreader and the edge of the truss. This is as much of a stretch as is possible without a lot more work. We had to add a bend to the track bar to get around the diff (Josh made a nice jig for this so it was easy) and grind down the gusset on the upper end of the currie track bar (to get around the bolt head that is missing on the diff, only missing for cycling to find other possible issues).

This was all great work, and since the track bar had to come out a few times I went ahead and serviced the JJs.

Another nugget in here is changing out the sleeve on the drag link getting smaller bolts (I never swapped them, so the collars had no adjustment and were in the way.

There's a couple follow ups up front:

1. Gerald didn't send the engine skid relocation bracket - so we need to make one.
2. I need to thread the savvy bumper for the steering skid.
3. I will eventually change out the fairlead, but it's not a pressing concern.
4. Add the hardcore corners I got from Rickie
5. Another set of heims on the swaylock are dead.

What does this look like? I know I didn't get anything in my partial order.

I am not finding a good example online, but the angle needs to go more vertical since the upper CA now travels there, so I think the bracket looks similar to what we have today but is extended to allow that clearance.

A hidden benefit of the midarm kit is that all control arm hardware is unified. I'll toss a single joint's worth of parts into the trail kit and likely never have to think about it again. After this project I am motivated to build out a jeep specific toolbag to only have sizes I could need.

The corner of the lower spring seat needs to be cut away to safely clear the Johnny Joint housing.
