Rooftop tent or regular tent?

It's been said before. It's rare you want a rooftop. With most lifted Jeeps, as soon as you start loading up the roof you get real top heavy real fast and with lifted suspension that's no Bueno. Believe me, i know. I've had 300lbs on my roof and four guys in the Jeep and it felt like I was driving Benny the cab on stilts from Roger Rabbit.

For me, I use my Jeep to get to the trailhead and hike the rest of the way in. My roof rack couldn't support the weight (no legs) and it would keep me from loading the rest of my gear up there.

I'm a hiker, not an overlander.
