Wow we just finished the trail on Sunday with the Jeep Jamboree USA group. The trail wasn’t that bad but Tahoe had some nasty air

The situation has worsened. In addition to the Eldorado National Forest, beginning Sunday, August 22, every national forest from Lake Tahoe north will be closed to all recreational use due to severe fire danger. That means no entry. Period.

The order reads through Labor Day Weekend, but the expectation is that the following national forests will be closed to all recreational use until at least September 30 unless we miraculously receive widespread heavy rain.

a. Tahoe National Forest
b. Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit
c. Plumas National Forest
d. Lassen National Forest
e. Mendocino National Forest
f. Klamath National Forest
g. Six Rivers National Forest
h. Shasta-Trinity National Forest
i. Modoc National Forest

The formal order is here:

Pray for rain. Lots of it.
