i posted the other day and some of you mentioned taking care of the rust asap. I let the fact that i found a manual LJR close to me cloud my judgement. Being from the midwest i am use to seeing alot of rust but i didn't know how bad it was. I Bought the jeep for 9k and now i am finding out why it was so cheap.. Someone mentioned wool wax?? I'm debating if i should resell the jeep as is. Clean it up some and drive it to the wheels fall off haha. What would you all do if you were in my shoes? the hole is new. i was poking around. such a bummer.

Dang man. The tub and frame both look no bueno. Maybe try to find a shell with no drivetrain or axles or something? That almost looks like "drive into the ground while you find another one" condition

Someone tell me if I'm correct, I understood that the YJ and TJ Jeeps had galvanized body panels. Is that not true. The body in this post looks really bad. I know the frames rust but I thought the bodies held up better.

Idk about galvanized but I thought the same thing. You see a lot of people needing frame swaps but not as many rotten tubs it seems

AFAIK Jeep started galv dipping bodies in 1995, so yes, TJs should be galv dipped, but that can only help protect for so long. It's a very thin coating, not like galvanized steel meant to sit unpainted.

Wool wax is a preventative, you already have cancer, and quite a bit of it, wool wax will do nothing for you unless you can take a trip back in time. Coming from the world of classic cars and restorations, I think your Jeep is at the point of total off-frame restoration, or scrapped for parts. It will only get worse from here.

You need to look within your market area for similar condition Jeeps to answer that. Around here, that would be considered a parts vehicle or off-road only toy, probably worth around $3,000 as-is and running. I'll guess your area is likely similar. You might find a sucker who has no idea what it would take to fix that, a total restoration $$$, who will pay top dollar. I just suggest you don't hide anything and represent the vehicle honestly.
