Safari top like this for a TJ?

It is not rigid like that in the back, so it stops at the rear roll bar, but with the BesTop TrekTop you can remove all the side pannels and just leave the top on. I use it like this most of the summer.

I do this as well, and is really the best way to do it.

Do those rear cinch straps make much noise in the wind?

I saw a Jeep like the one in OP yesterday. That is an odd look, not something I would try to re-create. Same with the 4 door version of the Trektop. Look good on a 2 door, strange on a 4. Your best bet is an OEM frame top or any safari/bikini top.

Do you guys remember the deal for somebody took an old hard top that was damaged and they cut everything off around the sides- I think that’s how they did it- looked surprisingly good.

It was about the best use of a damaged hardtop I’ve ever seen

Not that I can notice. The rear seat belts sure do though, so I use a Velcro strap to keep them snugged up to the roll bar.
Same experience here.

I was expecting that, but I was happily surprised.
No swell at all, if the doors are off , nothing.
If the doors are on or open windows I get a little suction action on the back windows is all.
I run the Trektop like this pretty much every day it isn't raining. Zero issues.
Sometimes I leave the rear window zippers unzipped

Worse yet; they pull their 'T-tops' and then make a post about how fun it is to drive topless.

So... it's not fun?

100% I can pull the front section of the hardtop on my JT faster than you can pull the hardtop from a TJ for a drive home from work, then put the sections back in.

IDK, let me borrow your JT for a while and I'll get back to you on that.

Oh, we have lots of fun in that... Hell, we just got back home last week driving across country to Zion Nat'l Park and back, spent a couple days in Ouray/Telluride area.

The TJ is a bit more fun around town and on trails though...
