Sail cloth top

Are soft tops made of sail cloth better? I am looking to buy a new top before winter.

Yep, sailcloth is definitely the way to go if you can afford it.

Good to know. My factory soft top has bee stored for 2 years. Put it on for this trip. Found that it is NO LONGER water proof and barely resistant. Another upgrade. Psssst: wife already knows
