I was looking at this jeep and it has a savage title due to a fender ding. How can it be salvage title due to this. I am confused haha. https://bid.cars/en/lot/1-42427442/2005-Jeep-Wrangler-1J4FA64S35P363729

Its all fixed up and comes with a hardtop still.

I’ve got a rig with a salvage title because of damage to the front drivers side fender and flare. Frame is straight. No other issues. Had it 2 years and it’s normal for the mileage..

You're missing the full story, that's what.

Unfortunately there simply isn't enough information or photos to do much more than guess.

That's what i thought. That damage looked to minimal for it to be the only reason why it was salvaged.

I'd definitely want some more information. If it's not a flood vehicle and your not squeamish it could make for a good deal.

Yeah, flood vehicle is a no go.

We got an ‘05 Rubicon for $7200 with hardtop and full doors. Everything works but salvage title. I figured if nothing else I could part it out for that amount.

I would love to find a deal like that. I plan on keeping my jeep for a very long time. So i don't mind salvaged title.

Wat? No. There are non-salvage rigs around here for $8500 all day long. LJ’s are dropping to as low as $12000. Make sure you check for rust. You’re in Wisconsin. TJ frames are notorious for rusting from the inside out.

The jeep is currently in alabama. Im waiting on frame pictures. Clean LJRs are still going for alot around here since everything is rusted out. I have a buddy that works in a body shop and says he gets alot of newer JLs that are having rust problems already.

How much would you offer?,

I'd have to look at it. It's an LJR, so if the frame is good and with that mileage and salvage, maybe $11k. I'm figuring the main parts (4:1 TCase, hard doors, hardtop, axles) have parts value. Then it's an LJ. Then it's has the name Rubicon.

Things that are trouble issues for the 05's.

1. The NSG-370 transmission has weak engineering and can be difficult to shift into R or between 1 an 2.
2. The PCM's crash regularly.

The first doesn't have a cheap or easy fix (you can swap it for an AX-15 or go auto, but rebuild quality of the NSG-370 is not reliable). The second has wranglerfixtj for a new PCM for $650.
