Savvy off-road sold? (the unofficial Savvy customer support and Savvy rant thread)

So much for "cosmetic".

@tworley - you have to let us know what you get :)

I've seen the "the files were lost" and "we don't have the files" several times over the course of this shit show. I'm calling bullshit on that. As a manufacturer that is your livelihood and you ensure that does not happen. Unless you are supremely incompetent, or you did none of the design work and nothing in house.

Who ever drew up all that Savvy stuff, refined it, and processed all those parts for Savvy has the "files".

I agree that it is impossible for them to have lost the files. Whoever was manufacturing them has the Cad files. They send them to the machines that make the cuts and bends.

I just think the Zavvy boys bought the Savvy name and are making whatever they want.

Anyone who thinks the RockKrawler joints are better than JJ,

A) doesn’t have a clue about physics

and

B) should highly question why in the comparison video they didn’t feature the JJ

I asked the same question on the comp video. They are so obsessed with marketing it as anti vibration and having a large degree of angle that they lost the reason in understanding. I think they also forgot you can put 2 joints on something and that an axle only needs to flex to a limit. Guess it's all about marketing.

The gent with all the files wound up with a serious fatal illness several years ago. We chatted briefly about the shop and he was not sure if he was going to just close it, get his son to keep it going, or sell it. He was a bit less than the clear and lucid person I'd come to know over the years. I could easily see him not sending the files over. Pure speculation on my part though.

The other side of it is I have several products I have made from my designs. I don't have a single file here I use to do that.

@Fluxor x2 on this!
I think he talked about doing it on his personal rig,But I'd love to see him make a mid arm kit and see what comes.....for the moment I plan on getting some of his bumpers here in a few months 😁 primarily the front !

Its on my radar and yes I have done the front for my LJ and do plan to finish my rear. I am not sure when that's going to happen. I have other items in front of it.

Here ya go!

I messaged on Instagram asking if they could offer a discount code because I missed the sale they had on the under armor a few weeks ago, no response.

Then i got an email with this code because I left the kit in my cart. Tried the code, didn't work.

So I ordered the TMR universal crossmember and I'm looking at a standalone skid now.🤷‍♂️

Fwiw, I bought my 5/16" thick 22" x44" 7075 T-651 plate for $250+$50 shipping and whatever tax

I also got the code emailed after trying the one Tworley posted.

I'll walk you through one product so you understand how it worked.
Matt has the 3D cad file.
He broke that out into a flat 2D cut file and sent that to the laser shop for both the aluminum pieces and the steel flanges.
Once they cut the material to shape, they delivered a pallet of cut parts back to Matt.
Matt set up the press brake back stop and did the bends on the flanges.
Then he set up the back stop and pressed the dimple for the sump.
Once those were done, he did the two bends for the front and back.
Then the sides were welded in and the bent flanges sent out for plating.

Several folks had bits and pieces of the file in some form. Only one person had the whole file to build the product. He quit building stuff when he got sick.
