Savvy off-road sold? (the unofficial Savvy customer support and Savvy rant thread)

Ordered a mid-arm upgrade kit this morning, which is on backorder. I don't plan on doing the installation for another few months so I thought I'd get the parts ordered well ahead of time. Leap of Jeep faith, wish me luck! :)

My dad ordered a full Midarm kit when they were "in-stock" a few weeks back. We have received everything besides the frame brackets and axle trusses. Got word that these parts are not done at the fabricators. A bit of a let down they claimed it was in-stock when it really wasn't.

On the bright side, Gerald seems to be on the ball with communication when you have a chunk of money tied up with him. He's been quick to respond and provide updates.

Savvy website is still active. Someone answered the phone when I called Friday to inquire about CA’s. They said they are ready to ship….. I think it was Friday

I was referring to the new Savvydesignz.com website. I just received the 1-1/4" body lift from the https://savvyoffroad.com/ website last week. I'm thinking that eventually, they will switch over at some point and TJ stuff may not be available. Hence this whole thread.

Some minor Savvy updates to fuel the fire. This part is the more important one:

“We would like to inform you that the TJ/LJ parts are currently undergoing a redesign and update process. We are working diligently to ensure that these parts meet the highest standards of quality and performance. We estimate that they will be available for purchase within the next 6-8 months.

Regarding the mid-arm kits, we are pleased to announce that they are already in production. We have implemented some exciting updates to enhance their functionality and overall performance. As soon as these kits are back in stock, they will be made available for purchase.”

It will be interesting to see what kind of “redesign and updates” they plan to do to Blaine’s designs.

The only one I’d like to see is better fitment of the front bumper with Swayloc.

Hope they don’t mess things up. 🤞

Good luck with that one. I expect nothing but fail.

Was just looking through the savvy designz website out of curiosity. If you look in the section “lighting” on the sidebar, are those prices a joke?? Am I just uneducated in the cost of light bars? What’s going on there?? Please tell me I’m not crazy thinking those prices can’t be right…

Rigid stuff is pricey, but the quality is up there. I have the 6" Series 360 on my LJ, and I paid about what they're advertising them for.

Whatever it takes to mean they can walk away from any license agreement on the original design would be my guess. IMHO, based on recent comment the old Savvy is on borrowed time and will soon be gone, along with all the good products.

You know how I know you have never installed one with the other?

The only issue is not with the bumper but with the corners and one bolt. Convert that to a threaded insert and it works perfectly.

There is no license agreement.

It looks like I am the forum guinea pig, potentially. I sent an email to Savvy asking if my order from last week for an LJ Mid Arm Upgrade kit will be the old or the new version. I also asked what has changed, hopefully not dimensions...

I wondered if I was going to be corrected on that, just after I posted. But yeah, you’re absolutely correct. I wouldn’t run a Savvy without the corners, not sure why anyone would.

If they are true to what they said, that they won't take orders for something not in stock, surely it will be the last of the old design that they are getting selling off before the new ones arrive. Only time will tell if you are unlucky and got the last of the old design before they improved it or whether you are lucky and got the last of the old design before diminished it. Presumably as new items come on stream ghey will be sold through the Savvy Designz website and gradually the old Savgy site will wither.

I am sure everyone is keen to see what peformance improvements are made to the mid arm kit as it will give a direction of travel for the rest of the TJ product line. One of the issues with Savvy seems to have been availability of much of the product range, so if the new owners make some changes that are seen as backward steps, but they also line up new production sources that mean the items are actually available to buy it will be an interesting tradeoff.

possibly just uneducated in the cost of a quality lightbar versus a Amazon/eBay Chinesium junk

That may well be - everybody has to set their own priorities. But for the money, I could throw away 10+ Chinesium lightbars for less than THAT insane pricing. I tend to like to "buy once, cry once", BUT there's paying for quality, then there's a complete rip-off. Order of magnitude priced products may be better, but not an order of magnitude better. OTOH, now that I've said that, I'd be willing to pay considerably more for a TJ radiator that actually holds up! But that's mission critical, a lightbar is not.
