I was vacuuming the TJ today and I noticed that the wire connection from the seatbelt to the loom that runs under the seat was smashed and disconnected. I pretty sure that this connection is only for the seat belt indicator and that annoying dinging. Can anyone confirm that it doesn’t impact anything else?

I would agree with what you said but not 100%...A seat belt still functions as it should with or without that cable I would have thought.

I'd have to trace the wires in the FSM wiring diagram, but I think the passenger side also disables the p-side air bag if no one is sitting on the passenger side. The drivers side just triggers the dinger. Don't know for sure without looking, so take it for what it's worth.

I’m not questioning whether the wires impact the seat belt mechanism itself. I know that works, I meant anything else electrical.
