My post that you previously quoted (post 18 in this thread) said that someone on here had suggested that I should have backed mine on for better weight distribution. I was originally passing along that suggestion, but now don’t believe it would make a substantial difference.
Back in Jan '21 when I moved from CA to FL; I rented a U Haul moving truck and trailer.
I strapped the front and rear tires with the U Haul tire straps and placed a chain over the front and rear axles,
Each time I stopped for fuel/food I checked the trailer axle bearing temperatures and verified the straps/chains were still tight.
Drove 2500 miles (west coast to east coast) and there were no problems....

Not sure how much changing the weight distribution impacts the surge brake on these trailers.
I did run the tires tight up against the front of the trailer where the ratchet strap mechanism touches the wheels.
To do this I drove the jeep on the trailer got it to touch and then installed the straps and tightened a bit to hold the jeep.
Next went into the jeep released the parking brake and with tranny in neutral tightened the front straps secure.
Went back in Jeep after this put in first gear, 4low and applied parking brake.

I'm in a related thread on the Land Cruiser forum.... 108 pages dedicated to towing stuff. Based on this thread I'm going to strap over the axles, and based on that thread I'm going to load the thing on the trailer per their specs.
I checked my door sticker and have a rear spring code of AA. The springs themselves are part number DL34-5560-aa. I looked but Ford seems to be as elusive as Jeep with publishing their spring rates. All trims, except the Max Tow and Raptor, seem use the 5560 springs.
After reading some of the above posts I am thinking that the difference is in the length of the LJ vs the TJ. I'm thinking the LJ just fits the trailer better.

Before you worry about securing the jeep, make sure the trailer is secure to the truck... Just saw this on the "Uhaul probably wouldnt like you doing that with their vehicle" page on facebook:
Just picked up this car hauler. Uhaul hooked everything up because they have to. Guy wouldn't allow me to do anything. When he got done, he took a pic which he had to send in to confirm it was all right.. 15min later I'm loading a car, as soon as it hit the ramps, this happened. He never tightened the coupler nut.

As a Texan, I can not confirm nor deny this statement.
But add in the ugly ass pizza cutter wheels and rubber bands for tires, then you are correct.
Most of us hate them.... Right along side the Cummins Bros running their tow mirrors upright when squatting down the highway. (God I hate it here sometimes)
As a total aside, when I went to the uhaul place to figure out what I needed in terms of hitch etc the dude not only just gave me the hitch & ball for free, but also informed me that I can return the thing after hours since there is no gate.
In other words, I apparently can go get a trailer any time I want as well, if you catch my drift.
