Sentry Key

I read the forum discussions on the sentry key but it did not answer my question. When I purchased my 2004 LJ a few months ago it had after market door locks installed and LOJACK. I removed the door locks as they were very annoying on start up and shut down, required a fob and I can reach both locks anyway. Had the LOJACK disabled by cancelling the subscription as well. My question is that I have the Sentry key option but don't know if LOJAC would have disabled that for any reason and I don't know how to tell if the system is active. I have both grey keys and there is a red light on the center lower dash but I suspect that was for LOJACK.

Any ideas out there how to tell if the keys are functioning...without "stealing" my car? All I could come up with is to have another key made without the chip and try to start it.

Pull the lower knee blocker on the dash below the steering column. On the right side of the column is the black SKIM module. Unplug it and start the rig. If SKIM is functioning, it will start and die within 5 seconds or so.
