Severe Vibrations at Idle with Savvy Under Armor

I want to follow up on this since it's been a few months. My vibes are now like Mr. Blaine said they should be.

The vibes at idle with an auto should be just every so slightly more than stock. Enough to tell, not enough to be annoying.

I had checked everything suggested in this thread and couldn't find anything out of the ordinary. So I chalked it up to a combination of things needing to settle and that maybe the cold weather was playing a part and making things "ridged." Since then, the vibes at idle are slightly more noticeable over stock, but aren't annoying or obtrusive. In fact, I doubt a passenger who doesn't know what a stock Jeep feels like would even notice.

Something I tired to do during the initial install was set the bolts in the middle of the bushing and hold the trans mount in place with clamping force. Basically, I didn't want the bolts to "rest" on the bottom of the bushing sleeves. It took some finessing, but I was able to get the bolts to pass through the sleeve without any contact. Maybe this is irrelevant, but I figured the less metal-on metal contact, the better. I haven't seen anything regarding this, but it's something that popped in my head.

I wish I had a suggestion for those of you still dealing with it. It sounds like bushing composition and clearance are the two most important factors to check. But in my case, the vibes have definitely smoothed out and I am quite satisfied with the results. I just wanted to give an update instead of leaving the thread hanging.

Now, on to solving those 60mph+ front driveshaft vibes :(
 
Clevite should be molded into the rubber isolation element on at least one end.

Got the Savvy BL and MML done. Working on Savvy UA, and thoguht I would confirm, I’m ignorant on some details of your comment here. It looks like one side is molded to rubber, not sure I can check more than these pics. You didn’t use Clevite as a brand in this post, I don’t believe, so I’m n it looking for a brand marking (I can tell my post sounds ignorant)

I figured I'd throw my hat in the ring here, in the process of swapping in a whole new drivetrain and on my list of items was the Savvy skid. I have NOT started the Jeep (obviously), but it looks like the top rib of the transmission bell housing does impact the fire wall as seen in the picture down below. Perhaps this is the source of the vibrations you guys are experiencing? Food for thought. I for one am going to massage that over with the mallet when I pull the engine tomorrow.

I’ve been itching to go out and check mine. Sure enough, the top rib on the transmission is touching the tub seam. It has slightly dented it, but needs more clearance. At least I now have the opportunity to fix it and have less vibrations. Thanks!
