What TJs came from the factory with a short console and a rubber E/parking brake boot/cover?

We're any of these like this from the factory? Seeing a lot of used 97-02 or 03-06 rubber e brake boots and the short console cup holder adapter. I would have assumed they are aftermarket but I am mostly seeing used ones.

While I don't know which models it was for sure, I'm willing to bet it was the early (97-02) base models such as the SE. That and the ones they sold to the government for postal service routes and such.

I wouldn't have the slightest clue at all, but I don't think it would fit. I say that because the console is much shorter, so the boot would have to be shaped entirely different in order to fit the shorter console.

Your Chrysler Jeep dealer should be able to find the parts numbers etc for you. I doubt they will still have the parts in stock but they should be in the data base.

And someone on here must have one.

I'll give em a try. I've never found them very helpful took them ten minutes to look up the large cross bolt for the motor mount.

This is what I'm refering to in case I wasn't descriptive enough, and can't picture how this wouldn't fit. But I do see 03-06 ones too so obviously I'm making this more complicated than I need to. Just really curious if this part actually changed as I've only seen an SE with this on never a sport or Sahara.

The short consoles are also often called half consoles and even single cupholder consoles. I think they look awesome. TJ mini consoles came with a single cup holder and a rounded tail for a minimal look. Pretty sure they bolt right into 97-02 Wranglers. And could probably be made to fit a 02-06 with little work for a factory look. The SE TJ's without a convenience package came from the factory with the mini consoles. Correct me if I am wrong. Automatic and manuals use the same mini console with a part number : 5DT85TRMAC
The mini console can be found all over ebay and other part houses online. If you look hard enough you should be able to find a new old stock item that is still in plastic.

The mini console ememgency brake cover has a part number : 8220-52078891AB

Morris Offroad has a bunch of emergency brake boots brand new and in stock from Mopar.

So does JeepsRus

Full consoles from 97-00 full length consoles are one (1) piece consoles.
Full consoles from 01-06 full length consoles are two (2) piece consoles with a split between the double cup holders.

IIRC the TJ models that didnt have the airbag switch in the center consoles came with a small dish for storage and a coin organizer. Someone chime in.

Yup, no airbag switch, and a worthless little tray for coins...

Right but do people really use their consoles? I dont keep anything in mine..but then again I am a clean freak.

You're right, I rarely use mine. The short console actually does look better in my mind.

If it wasn't for the fact that mine has the factory subwoofer in it, I would just get rid of it in favor of a short console.

The center console is worthless for storing stuff. Trying to figure out a way to permanently attach the console lid so people won't rip it off anymore, may store and amp/sub combo inside it though.

The short console is super cool, my girlfriend would hate to lose her cupholder though.

Oh yeah I love you airbag switch thingy I have never used in a million years and probably still won't use. At least 97-02 TJ's came with the ashtray that functions quite nicely as a coin storage tray.

I use mine as an armrest.

Back when I cared whether I had a nice stereo system, I replaced the stock console with a locking Tuffy security console, and had the head unit in the steel console, and the factory AM/FM radio in the dash.

I have the long console...I was referencing the "coin tray" I actually keep a couple items in my center console. Its not very big, due to the sub, but a microfiber for cleaning my sunglasses goes in there, the stupid spline adapter for my lug nuts is there, Phone charger, etc.

Owning an SE meant you couldn't afford more than one drink anyway. Storage? Who needs storage? Not a SE owner. Can't afford to buy stuff to store. TJ Jonny has the Deluxe edition mini console. Way to show off that poor man's wad of $1 dollar bills buddy!

I'm kidding guys! Don't flame me! In all seriousness, that mini console is cool, but I'd miss my full console which houses my sub and my CB. Plus I'd miss my arm rest.

Pretty elaborate joke...
