I have a little bit of a predicament. Some background information: 2000 Jeep TJ Sahara, 136,000 miles, college student, 3-inch lift on 33s. What I am getting at is, do I sell my baby? The previous owner re-did the interior as well as repainted the Jeep. I have about $7,000 put into the Jeep. I have patched the frame a few times and it is getting to the point where the hastle is making me wonder if it is worth it or just to sell it for something more economical.

What hassle are you talking about?

They're not gonna be cheaper to pick up over time...

Is your frame still rusty?

That's a decision only you can make!!

Being a college student, you can sell it and buy another when finances permit later on.

You just won't know what you are getting, and you know what you have now.

I'll say that of course all of us would say keep it because we love our Jeeps. However, you're a college student with your whole life ahead of you. Sometimes we have to make decisions that are more fiscally responsible to set ourselves up for a better option down the road. When I was 20 I had a Hummer H3 Adventure that I absolutely loved. However, I knew that I wanted to marry my girlfriend (my now wife of 11 years) and couldn't afford to keep the H3, buy a ring, and get married. I traded the H3 for a Civic and drove that for years until it finally passed to her and I got a new truck. Now we are able to live comfortably while also having toys and hobbies. But we're in our 30's now and we'll established in our careers. There's always more Jeeps, but if you can't afford it now, do what makes sense for you. Never put yourself in a bad situation over a car! Just my .02

Before you put that for sale sign in the window, be sure that you have researched the options for replacing it, regardless of what type of vehicle that may be.
It would really suck to find yourself in a position that requires different maintenance/repairs.
In short, make sure that you are not trading in a Jeep w/ issues for something else with issues.

I am looking for some advice that would help me make a decision and things to think about. The hassles I am talking about are the frame issues that I can't afford to keep fixing, basic maintenance, and things along those lines. I know it comes down to me making the decision.

What are you studying? It'll give us an idea of if you will make money or not.

College or not, I'd want to dump a rust bucket.

Every dude has their car they wish they never sold. It's a bummer but not a huge deal. It isn't something so rare you couldn't replace it down the line, at least.
