Should I use brake cleaner to clean my differential gears?

CA compliant does not contain tetrachloroethylene. My point was that not all brake cleaner type products produce phosgene gas when heated.

I have always thought it was the chlorine based cleaners that caused the phosgene issues. I was wondering if it was still a problem since most everything is non-chlorinated. Good stuff to learn and know.

It isn't banned, it is just banned from use by fuckwit homeowners who in all likelihood are the reason it is restricted.
Yea, I know, and you're right. You gotta be a specialist company, blah, blah...

If I had known they were gonna (effectively) ban it, I would have bought a 55 gallon drum of the stuff.
