California Sierra Trek

Saw @Plumber1 coming out of the Sierra Trek campground last night and today we’re doing Signal Peak. It’s absolutely gorgeous out here!

First breakdown was a Toyota. Broken transmission mount. Tore the caged nut right through the frame. Got out the ready welder and a couple batteries and we’re back on the move. Make note of the TJ jack to push everything back into place before welding.

Stopped again. They had issues with the Ham radios they handed out to the committee members. They weren’t programmed right so communication with the groups ahead of us was making the day difficult.

The trail was a challenge, food was great, Friday weather was perfect on the trail. Saturday was nice also, just a little on the cool side.

On the way home the guy with the borrowed 4-runner had a trailer tire blowout. 😠

That blue cj, #19 on the list, had me worried more than a few times.

Can't wait to watch the rest of them.

😂 we all thought he was going over! And to top it off, he catches air under all four tires!

Here are a few of our Friday Fordyce run, and we also did the Outer Limits run on Saturday and met Alfmoto "Durty TJ" It was great to meet in person someone I have chatted with here. Daryl I wish we would have connected

We did Fordyce in 2016 and camped out, we changed it up this year. We drove to Meadow Lake and set up a base camp, My son brought his trailer and my buddy brought his Motor home. I towed mine just in case something went wrong we could put either jeep on the trailer and get them home. I tell you sleeping in a nice Trailer sure beats sleeping in a tent and waking up with a half deflated air bed. It will be hard to back and sleep in a tent again :) Oh and having the lake in the background was a plus

Me too! We’ll hook up on another run in the future.

There is also Deer Valley and Sour Grass. If anyone gets up that way let me know I have a second home in Arnold and I am up there from time to time

I would be willing to travel up there for a trip one of these days.
