Back in the seventies and eighties I used to hit those trails in full size rigs, also Devils Gulch and Hites Cove down to the Merced River.Have any of you done any of the trails near Shaver Lake ?

AwesomeAlex was able to test his newly installed mid arm at Slick Rock Trail last weekend. Check it out!
The sign called it Rock Pile.Is that the name of that obstacle? Winch Hill? There’s still Old Big Sluice we didn’t run, I think it would stack up.
That trail is named appropriately, it’s slick and there’s rocks. It's no joke. Without both axles locked I cant see someone being able to get up without winching.

Thanks for the correction. It’s a fun and challenging trail. Thanks for taking us all through it.Daryl that was the second obstacle we did the optimal ledge on.
The winch hill was the one before that we winched on.

well if it makes you feel any better the group with the busted red LJR winched all but one jeep up it, the CJ with the 40+ tires on it made it up but I think @Plumber1 made it look easier. Thanks for the correction. It’s a fun and challenging trail. Thanks for taking us all through it.
If you don't recall that busted LJR was the guy who said the toyota had no place being on the trail and wouldn't make it. Karma struck him that's for sure.well if it makes you feel any better the group with the busted red LJR winched all but one jeep up it, the CJ with the 40+ tires on it made it up but I think @Plumber1 made it look easier.
It would be like night & day. Running it that way is all downhill, so it would be much easier.I've only ever ran the trail from Lake Alpine to Utica, so it's an interesting perspective watching you guys going that direction. Definitely looks tougher going that direction.
It's a new mod that allows the axle a bit of slop so it can find traction better. That’s awesome! Was this the secret to the extra articulation that got you up that ledge?

I'm so happy that didn't fall out on the trail, or the drive over.

I was worried he would get stuck and two-block the trail and we would be forced to backtrack. If you don't recall that busted LJR was the guy who said the toyota had no place being on the trail and wouldn't make it. Karma struck him that's for sure.
