Ya, the price on those things made me choke. I found an 1886/71, stainless, for a third of that. Now they're right up there though. Missed the boat whilst discussing it with the wife. There's the Marlin GG's, but they just aren't tripping my trigger. The fit and finish is pedestrian at best. Oh well, I'll keep looking. Maybe I'll stumble across an SBL Guide Gun that doesn't suck.

...and the 45-70, 350 grn. and 405 grn. at 1800 fps out the muzzle will get the job done nicely at any range I'll ever get to shoot at. Plus I'm already casting and loading for that.
