We had tornados blow through last week. A tree fell on the back of my TJ and damaged the top frame and poked a couple of holes. I am considering turning this into insurance depending on cost to repair. What are my options for tops. I am thinking just getting a new factory soft top if they still make them.

Thanks!

Wow, if that was anything else it would have been a smashed roof and 1/4, probably totaled! Another win for the humble TJ.

Sorry that happened, however; hope you enjoy whatever new top you end up with!

Not to hijack, but I guess I am anyway...I see people recommending the frameless tops, looking at the install video it looks like they could be a pain to switch back and forth between completely topless and full soft top on. I know with my factory top I can do it in about 3-4 minutes. Can anyone that has one add some firsthand experience? I definitely prefer the look of the frameless but during the summer I put the top down all the way, every day. My jeep lives outside so I put it back up at night or when it rains. My factory top is definitely tired and the hail here has added speed holes to my windows, so I am in the market.

Yes, I would agree it's a pain to completely remove the top portion of my (LJ) frameless top.
Even more of a pain is putting the windows back in to 'put the top back on'.
Fortunately, I only use my soft-top a couple time a year.
