Hello everyone, I figured I would share a current LJ project I have been working on as a winter project. I have been following a few build threads on here, so figured I would join the fun. I picked up this one owner 06 6-speed with 109k this past July from an 80-year old man, he was located 20 miles from my home, couldn't believe it. Here's a few pictures of when I drove it home. I wasn't sold on the color when I picked it up, but I have really become fond of Solar Yellow. I believe the previous owner pushed snow, or pulled it behind an RV and it caught some road salt. The rock chip protectors really helped over the years.

I first started with all maintenance. Diff fluid changes caused leaks, seals have been replaced. I also have an issue with the dash indicator for 4H and 4L, I need to check for a good ground from what I am reading. Other than that, this one will be a survivor.

Fast forward, I finished up the front end about a month ago and moved on towards the rear end. I replaced everything that was in bad shape, the front sway bar was had rotted away. 2" BDS Lift Springs and Rancho RS5000 shocks. I also added HD diff covers with drain holes.

Here is where we currently stand... I am surprised the rattle can turned out so good. Before vs. After...

Found a set of Motobilt sliders on Marketplace, good thing my long time friend started a powder coating business. He does great work and is very reasonable. The only other piece that is coated is the diff cover, went through a variety of stainless steel wire brush attachments to clean as much of this as possible before satin black paint.

braggart

Welcome anyway. Yellow the best.

Thanks! I've used this same username for 25 years on old ATV forums that no longer exist. They were the thing back in the day, until social media ruined everything. So when I stumbled across this forum, it was a no brainer. All the best, I agree the yellow is up there for me now.

Made some additional progress with the surface rust removal, waiting on my control arms and rear bumper. They were received and dropped off at the powder coater yesterday. Oh... I scored a brand new 12k winch on Marketplace for $200 bucks! That never happens, always the next person in line...yada yada.

Can someone provide me feedback on how much variance an Adam's Driveshaft will have if I decide to increase lift height down the road? I bought an Advanced Adapters SYE kit for this, and need to get back to them to order the rear. My plan is to eventually navigate towards 35's with 3" suspension. I will be doing a small tummy tuck, adding a Savvy 1.25" body lift and Ruff Specialties 1" MML. My question is, if I give Adam's the length that I currently need, will it also work for the future plans?

Thanks,
Dan

Installed all new brakes today, still need to go back to the front. I need fittings for the brake lines I ordered, hopefully autozone will have something that will work. The rear end turned out really nice compared to where it started. Still waiting for the call from powder coater, hopefully control arms and rear bumper will be done this week. I went with BMB rear replacement calipers and a rotor and pad set off Amazon, definitely an upgrade and my parking brake will work much better. 👍

Thank you, appreciate the welcome. I want to be clear though, the only powder coated parts are the sliders, bumpers, and differential covers. Everything else is rattle can Satin Black. If you look at the axle, you can notice a slight difference in the shade of satin black.

He is a high school friend, known him for years. He is a pipe fitter and into fox body mustangs, he said he started the business out of a need because he waited five months for his parts for his build. That said, it has been a wise decision and keeps him and his family busy as a side hustle. My first batch was back in a week, I was blown away with turnaround time.

Been a little busy with life, and waiting for parts to arrive so progress has been slow, but good progress. Picked up my final round of fresh coated parts. Amazing how close it is to the rattle can color I used. I was also able to install MML and rear control arms, that was fun. I am currently waiting for my brake line holders and track bar relocate bracket. I feel Amazon has ruined shipping times, 7-10 business days on ground service seems like forever. :ROFLMAO:

I have a few questions for anyone running this MBRP cat-back exhaust. It bolts up great, but the hanger and pipe it came with is completely off.

Next Question, do I need to remove the top side of the OEM style rubber when installing the Savvy Billet 1.25" Body Lift?

Here is how we currently sit, need to snug up a couple of the gas tank nuts while I wait for parts to arrive.

The wheel studs look too long for spacers !! Should not stick out from the spacer, wheel should be tight against the spacer.
Lug nuts wrong ??

Muffler upside down ??

They are for JK Rubicon wheels, should work fine. As far as the muffler I have rotated it every which way. I think I will just dump it straight down with no tip, and have my buddy make me a custom bracket.

Life has been busy as of late, all good. I had a couple of days to work in the garage, now waiting for more parts. The transfer case turned out really nice, the exhaust find on Marketplace was a good deal. I also was able to get the Saavy light mounts bolted up, looks clean. With the nicer weather, I decided to powerwash all the rust dust from grinding away. I have the TC installed, will need to get measurements for drive shaft orders. I also scored a really nice airbox on eBay, but need the tube piece. Does anyone have an extra they would like to sell, I am located in Kansas City area but willing to pay for shipping. Cheers! 🍻
