Well, she’s finally home. After years of on and off searching, and some awesome help from this forum, I purchased a 2005 LJ.

2005
165k miles
6speed manual

Working on some Paint correction in the garage tonight, but over all she’s in amazing snap for a 2005. I scoped the frame and I have found that the Frame is absolutely MINT.

first project, take up seats, and carpet and add truck liner or similar the entire interior floor and out new carpet back in. The carpet isn’t horrible, but the carpet rubbing over the years has worn the paint off. Plus the trunk area was trimmed.

I’m trying to figure out what Lift was put on this LJ. It’s currently running BFG 33 inch. It does not appear that there’s any change other than the springs. There’s also a Rubicon express steering stabilizer added. The shocks appear to be standard Monroe spectrum.

Is it possible that all they did Was add larger Springs and replace the shocks?

Second part of the question looking to add a better suspension. Right now it’s pretty rough. I am thinking for now, just replace the shocks?? What do you all recommend.

here are some Pictures of the current Springs/shocks/undercarriage of the front end.

Rancho RS5000X shocks all the way around. You wont complain.

Make sure tire pressures are in the 22-24 psi range.

Load range C tires offer the best on road ride for a lifted TJ with larger than stock tires.

My DA polisher hasn’t even arrived yet, give me a few more days and it will be much better. It does appear the previous owner had angry ex girlfriend.
Most of that I can’t feel with my finger nail so I should be able to get those gone. BlAck paint is always a challenge

Looks like I got 14.5” and 10.5” and they added shock relocation brackets on the rear with a track bar adjuster. So I would assume this is a 2.5” spring only lift.

So for the Rancho rs5000x, will the standard size for TJs fit? Any bump stop changes needed?

You should always check bumps.

for correct shock length, it’s best to measure for shock size.

Decide your final tire size, and buy a suspension that works with that.

The DA and polish arrived today: A little quickie in the garage got rid of some of the major damage and all of the fine lines/swirls.
