When tires and/or diff gearing are changed out for larger numbers, it necessitates a change to the speedo gear (more teeth).

With that being the case, am I correct in assuming that the odometer is dependent on the speedo gear (teeth) to accurately display mileage?? Or is there another gear somewhere that is isolated to the odometer??

speedo and odo work off of the same input. If the speedo gear is not correct for the application, both indicated speed and tracked mileage will be wrong.

Larger tires require less speedo gear teeth to speed the gear up, deeper gears (numerically higher/bigger number) requires more teeth to slow the speed reading down.
