When attaching the speedometer sensor the top of the SYE, do you just tighten the bolt down or do you put a sealer on it and then tighten the bolt down ?
mom Chasing down a leak and it looks like it’s coming from the sensor

I didn't use any sealant. I just torqued it to the recommended spec according to JB conversions(SYE kit manufacturer). Haven't had any issues with it so far.

Well the sensor had a good O ring so I just tightened it back down.
so I moved on to the super short SYE from teraflex and changed out the output shaft seal. I’ll drive it tomorrow and see it that stops the leak.

Well I put a new output / yoke seal in the teraflex super short SYE and buttoned everything back up. Waited well over 25 hours and took it for a test drive. When I got back oil was all over the rear of the transfer case and skid plate.
So I cleaned everything up, then took the rear drive shaft , skid and transmission mount off and supported the t-case. The weep hole under the trans and transfer case was dry as a bone ( thank goodness). Anyway, I started the Jeep , put it in Drive , reved it up to 2000 rpms and the oil started coming out of the speed sensor.
so I guess the O ring is bad. I’ll replace the Oring and let y’all know.
