Spring around output shaft of NSG370?/231

Can anyone help identify where this spring belongs? Tried searching on a parts diagram with no luck. TIA

it was the seal spring , not a part

I can't recall for sure but looks like one of the springs that goes around the outside of the inner lip of the output shaft seal. I think that's what's pictured here:

Okay so I saw the “seal” in the manual and parts diagrams, just have never seen a spring as a seal. Thank you!!

That looks like it came off the seal on either the transmission or Tcase side.

it looks just like a seal lip spring to me, but what's wild to me is that the NSG370 output seal rides directly on the output shaft, unlike some of the other transmissions where it rides on the t-case input gear. So that means that wherever this spring came from, it had to get through the seal lip between it and the shaft without being completely mangled, and I don't see how that happens.

It’s a piece of the seal that keeps tension on the lip
