I’m In the process of replacing the input shaft seal on my steering box I bought the kit for a 1997 jeep wrangler but the size of the seal that I got is too big for what I pulled out so I’m asking you guys do you think this is a Jeep steering box or is it something else thank you
I’m looking for the input shaft seal. The part number I pulled out is IPC SEAL

Out of curiosity, it looks like the slightly larger version might push into the next up landing. I wonder if that might be an improved version of the original? Have you test fit it to see if it will pop into place?

I just rebuilt and tapped my '98 box and ran into the same issue. My 2000 and other boxes use the bigger seal.

I ended up taking the seal to Napa and we matched it up to 7443 seal made by SKF. it was a little loose but snug. Used some rtv. Re used the dust cap. The hyd line I’ll have to get a new one made
