Turbo'd Rubinot

Took advantage of an amazing sale through Bestop and bought their HD Tire Carrier.

Installation was nearly a breeze for the exception of breaking a jamnut and a trip to the hardware store for longer bolts due to the corner armor being too thick from what Bestop supplies. The third brake light/bracket isn’t pictured. Now to just buy the spare Beadlocks and matching tire before my first rotation with the new tires.

wow that's quite the transformation

Thank you! A lot of hard work was sure put into her. Excited to post more work hopefully in the months to come. Have a Terraflex tummy tuck that’ll be going on as well as other small parts that’ll be required to make this work.

Well she’s packed up and ready to go to Port. Me, the rig, and kiddos are moving to Southern Oregon (for any of my fellow TJ members in the surrounding area) next month. Hoping to land a full time job while the wife finishes her military contract with the Marines. Luckily I have family to lean on out in So. Oregon while we get situated.

Really odd seeing her with the hard top finally on. Had the thing laying around for a few years and the Hawaii sun sure did a number to the paint 😂 luckily I have family back home with the proper equipment to take care of it.

Before leaving though I received one hell of a deal for a brand new Rhino Rack Batwing Awning from a friend (almost as a departing gift at the price I paid). My friend ordered it for the wrong side thus costing too much to ship it back from this island. He even helped me fab up small brackets welded to my Gobi Rack for the Awning.

Here’s a few photos of it on, the way they set this up is perfect. Very well thought out to make it quick to set up and pack up as a one man operation. I likely would never pay for this at full price but for those that do I would say it’s worth it. They even make these nice notches/groves on the feet to put the stakes at an angle. There’s zippers attached all around the ends of the awnings to add extensions and even a tent that the company sells (all pretty steep prices).

Hell of a deal on a tire carrier! I bought one myself just because that price was too good to pass up.

It really was... I was saving up for the Moryde Tire Carrier but as you mentioned the price was too good to pass up even if I ended up paying a little extra to ship it here on island.

Yep, and my thought is that even if you wanted to, you could probably turn around and some point and make a little profit off it, since they will no longer be making them.

Came across a stellar deal yesterday, found a used complete Tuffy Security Deck Enclosure for $140. Might be a while before I put it on as it’ll only be used when I make weekend trips with the TJ off-road without my kiddos. In the mean time I’ll probably touch this up and make it look like new!

Well, found the time over the weekend since my return to mainland to replace the valve cover gasket. Wasn’t a bad job but no where near as fast as replacing the one off my YJ.

Also found a recommendation about “Flood Penetrol” through the forums to revive my worn hardtop. After having it laying in my lanai exposed to the Hawaii sun a few years really faded the top. Well, spent a few hours from washing the top with degreaser, waiting for it to dry and rubbing the product with a microfiber towel and buffing it with another. 6 passes later and the hardtop looks brand new!

Well, family came through and dropped these beautiful items off to me from Southern California today.

Used Terraflex Tummy Tuck with Oil and Trans Skid Plates to include a 1” Currie MML. Picked it up for only $500 from a fellow member here on the forum!

Already have the 1” MOORE Body Lift with me and will only need a the Savvy Transfer Case Cable. Hopefully I won’t need a longer driveshaft once it’s all put together since I’m already running an Adams with SYE.

Also I spent a quick 30 minutes out of my evening adding the 67 Design Jeep TJ Gen 2 Kit on the rig!

Should easily hold up to my daily driving not to mention off-road adventures..! I’ll be adding more arms in the future for my Go Pro and Ram Mount for an iPad Mini.

One of my favorite photos of the rig since back to Southern Oregon. Took this atop of a mountain 3 weeks ago nearby my families home.

Hoping to add many more to the collection by the end of the year...! One of the other few things I’ve missed is coming back to my small gun collection and going out to shoot!

Took a few days out of the weekend to finally knock out the 1” MORE Body Lift and 1” Currie Motor Mount Lift all to add the Terraflex Belly Up Skid. Job was overall pretty straight forward other than removing the entire motor mount bracket due to my a/c compressor and turbo (on the other side) being in the way of the cross bolt. I didn’t have to modify the exhaust hanger, even my Banks Turbo didn’t have issues working with the BL/MML regarding the exhaust pieces they provide to work with my stock. I did find out the exhaust banks provides was actually drying my stock motor mount bushing. So I took some exhaust wrap and went to work on that one piece. My current SYE and Adams D/S is working well after adjusting the Pinion angle slightly.

Such a huge advantage to having that 1” BL on. Putting parts back in place I was able to reach in areas that were difficult more comfortably compared to doing it prior to the Body Lift.

Only real issues I’ll have to tackle soon is replacing the transfer case cable with Savvy’s. I can’t change the transfer case without muscling it and don’t want to throw in the drop bracket MORE provides. So I’ll just use it as an excuse to upgrade without the wife nagging 😉

The other issue I did note is my muffler hitting every now and again. Not a big deal to me at the moment since down the road I’ll be replacing it with a slimmer aftermarket set to give the rig a throatier noise.

Soon I’ll be throwing on a matching spare Beadlock with Nitto Ridgegrappler. Had a friend mention Powertank came out with a new set of Monster Valves made specifically for the Machete Beadlocks. I’ll likely pull the trigger and purchase a set of 5 before putting the Beadlock together and likely put the other 4 on the next tire purchase.
