Strange noise after service

My new to me 2003. Sport AT has been getting a bunch of things done at a reputable mechanic.

Exhaust manifold, rancho 5000x’s , oil pan, tranny pan, rear main seal, all drivetrain gear lubes , trannny cooler lines... etc.
Then went for safeTcap as transmission support bolts were rusted out.

Now it’s making a noise similar to a trailer chain dragging on the ground.

Chinga langha lingaa, chinga linga lang.

“Like you have a little change in your pocket going “

Mostly while coasting , slow or fast. stops when braking and accelerating.....

A friend was wondering if there is a chain in the gear case ?

I will be putting it on a lift today so I can run it in gear to hopefully find the culprit.

Any thoughts ?

Could have something to do with the chain in the transfer case possibly.

Either way, if this happened after it was serviced, you need to take it back to whoever serviced it and ask them to figure it out. That noise isn't a good one, and if it's as bad as it sounds, you probably shouldn't be driving it.

Could just be a loose heat shield if all that was messed with...

Hopefully it’s just a shield as they only did mostly preventive maintenance

Ended up being a rear brake retention spring was floating around in the brake assembly.
