I am still feeling my way through the risers dilemma. Been driving the past few days with the new foam, which feels great, and the risers installed. I noticed my left shin hit the knee bar under the dash a few times while depressing the clutch so that pretty much seals the deal for shortening the risers.
When I had the drivers side installed with no risers, with the risers still installed under the passenger side, the difference in height of the headrest was immediately disturbing. I am too anal retentive with the height difference and would be bothered every time I looked at the Jeep. If I do half the size of the drivers side risers, I'll have to do the same on the passenger side.
Hard to rave over a piece of foam, but can't lie... it's a HUGE improvement. The OE foam degrades over time so it's not really noticeable.. kinda like my knees.Y’all sound crazy. It’s hard to believe it’s that much better. You’ve piqued my interest though.
Did you DIY them? I haven't found a set of 1/2"...I still have a .5" riser but the seat foam is MUCH better than the old.

Probably highly subjective, if your old foam is sculpted around your ass, it will probably hold you more comfortably than the new foam, just my 2 cents. Im smaller than the previous owner of my jeep though, so my collapsed seats dont work well for me, and something like this foam replacement is a no brainer in my situation.Does this seat upgrade only feel that great to bony asses or will fat asses notice the same results? Asking for a close friend.

I'm truly surprised by the maturity of the group.... this screams a your mom joke.
That's my plan as well.Yes, put them into the band saw and split the old set of risers.
Or that old Abe Lincoln Geico commercialI'm truly surprised by the maturity of the group.... this screams a your mom joke.
When the Summit Guy announced the seat pads. He also had a few sets of seat covers for demo. Whatever happened with that? I'd like to do foam bottoms, seat heaters, and new covers all in one shot.
Just test fit the drivers side…. Wow, what a difference. I’m thinking I might be okay ditching the 1in seat raisers.

I had 1.75” risers which before doing the seat cushion were one of my top three favorite comfort mods. I went back-and-forth on whether or not to keep them once the seat cushion was done and ultimately took them out. I drove about 200 miles today and I dare say it’s perfect without them.
Yes.. Driver side only. Neither my wire nor daughter care for the Jeep much. And, that's being nice about it. Didn't see the value in replacing the passenger side. Are ya new foam on drivers side only?
All of the above. Oddly, with the risers in I was feeling the lumbar pillow was incorrectly positioned. Maybe the pillow moved in its pocket or maybe it's me that's repositioned now that risers are out, but the pillow is spot on now. I had some really nice aftermarket Recaro's in my old Audi and the TJ seat now has a similar feel. Even the back side bolsters feel better. That’s my take- seat risers are a level 3 mod now, with no points accredited now the new seat foam is out. It’s in the Forum Rulebook 8/24 and after revision pamphlet, page 26.
The seat foam -
- makes your drive height spot on
- increases your comfort both in the legs and seat and your lower back
- makes the rigs’ suspension feel a tad softer
-gives it a newer vehicle feel.
In my opinion it gives a lot of bang for the buck.
