Supercharged TJ

Whats the advantage of the Dana 44 diifs
The guy that had my TJ before me put the 33's on & changed the diff gears
Where do you get the chromemoly & 4140 axles?
I'm trying very hard not to get obsessed about this TJ but there is so much cool shit out there for them

It handles more power. The Rubicon Dana 44 came with stock lockers, making it very off-road capable from dealer. But what it all boils down to is overall strength.

A Dana 44 axle is going to be stronger than the Dana 30 and Dana 35 axles that come on most TJs. In addition to that, the Dana 44 will better handle bigger tires (i.e. 33" and above) and is more desirable because it is a stronger and beefier axle.

In my opinion the best axles you can buy for the rear Dana 44 would be Revolution 4340 Chromoly axles. These axles are the ones I personally run and they are manufactured in the USA (the only remaining axle that is) and operate out of Superior axles old facility (Superior axle before then went out of business was widely regarded as the best axles out there).

Anyways, I got my Revolution 4340 rear axles here:
https://www.4lowparts.com/shop/axles-and-gears/dana-44-rear-axle-kit-jeep-tj-xj/

As far as front axle shafts go if you want to stick with u-joints you can run the Revolution 4340 front axle shafts (these use a beefy 1350 u-joint):
https://www.4lowparts.com/shop/axles-and-gears/dana-44-front-axle-kit-tj-lj-rubicon/

Or if you want to do away with the u-joint and run CV axles (this is what I run), you can get RCV front axles which are amazing axles and practically indestructible:

All of the links I sent you assume you have (or plan on getting) Dana 44 axles.

I got all of my axle stuff from Ricky Garza (@Garza) of 4LowParts.com.

There's many different ways to build an axle, but the way I did it (with the parts I linked to above) results in a very, very beefy axle that shouldn't have any issues with any serious off-roading.

Some people will upgrade to Dana 60 axles, but I don't see the point in that unless you plan on doing some insane rock crawling and running larger than a 35" tire.

@Chris sorry to revive old thread , curious what your thoughts are about putting the boosted tech m90 charger on a Dana revolution s35 with Eaton e locker , can the ring and pinion handle the power ?
