In the middle of an LS swap using Novak engine mounts and Novak adapted 4L60E.

Years ago I swapped an AW4 in place of my stock NV3550. I had to cut down the input shaft of my NP231J transfer case about 1 inch. Should I replace this cut down input shaft with a standard length input shaft before bolting up to the 4L60E with the Novak adapter kit installed?

I also installed a standard HD SYE kit back then, is it worth swapping out to the super short SYE kit for this LS swap? Got to get new driveshafts anyway....
If I have to tear down the transfer case to swap the input shaft, I may as well swap to the super short SYE kit.....This is my dilemma. Thanks for any advice.

I did ask this of Novak and am waiting on a reply.

Is the new LS driveline longer than what you are pulling out?

Extra length on the rear driveshaft in a TJ never hurts. Whether it is worth it depends on the answer above, and also how well the old setup worked.

One thing you don’t have to worry about is overpowering your driveline with that little LS…😀

I believe the driveline is shorter... but placement of it is more of a concern? You're right, the question of having to swap out that input shaft will be my determining factor.
That little LS (gen III 5.3 with a stage 2 BTR nsr cam) will at least let me pull out in traffic! The 4.0 AW4 combo required all the pedal to make it move....PLUS, it's fun to chop and build! (just hope it all works when I'm done)
