Technological Blast From the Past - PARC

Went down a rabbit hole with some old data today, and I remembered FTPing into PARC and browsing and retrieving information.

Anyone else remember PARC (Palo Alto Research Center)? They had a very primitive search function, by today's standards. I can't for the life of me remember the name of it. I do remember that it was text based, and really funky to use. You'd Telnet in and run it by command line. It would pop a screen with fields to populate. Enter your criteria, hit enter, and magic would happen.

All over a hot-rod 14,400 baud modem.

I’m only 41 so I don’t remember as much as you do. I do remember that my dad was a high level executive for HP back in the day. Had a company car and everything.

He then went on to work for Mentor Graphics and 3COM.
