Technology, the smartphone and the battle for our soul

Part of The problem is that so many people depend on their phones to do business now a days. Email, text, information. The list goes on and on.

There are times when I’m on call where I have to carry a phone for 2 weeks at a time. I’d love to not carry a phone more but I don’t have the choice. When I’m not on call I try to limit my use of my phone. But after having to carry it for those two weeks (2 weeks on 2 weeks off) it’s hard to make the transition back and forth. So for me the best thing I can do is go and drive my tj (or participate in another hobby like golf or hunting) to where I don’t want to be on a phone, or where I can’t be on a phone to do it.
