Replaced heater core and very little heat .. both heater hoses are extremely hot ao it's not a flow issue .. when the selector is moved this much it's ice cold even after a good warm up and a 20 minute drive to work .. where do I look for the issue and what did I miss

I don't trust new parts... wouldn't be surprised at all if you still have a bad heater core.

You could try flushing everything with thermocure.

I think at this point I'd verify you have vacuum to the HVAC panel with a mighty vac or something that generates vacuum. Up to and including a smoke test.

Then I'd use my hose pinch off pliers and disconnect the heater hoses from the cord and see if I could blow air through it and flow water through it with a hose.
