So this is my first vehicle and first jeep, but I decided to go all out and since I have some knowledge and people around me that can help, but I'll gladly accept more. Now since it was at a car parts yard I was able to get both the tub and frame + odds and ends for under 600$ so now I can put the bulk of the money elsewhere.

That's what I call a project. Can't wait to see the progress.

Holy cow! That might be the biggest project TJ I’ve ever seen. Can’t wait to see what you do with it.

It will be intense for sure, but it also allows me more freedom as to what I want to put into it, which also makes it an even bigger job.

@bobthetj03 just ran the rubicon on a similar setup. I'm sure if you ask he'll glady show off some photos. @JMT also has a similar build and would be a great resource to tap.

I agree. From where it stands now, you can pretty much do anything to it!

3” SL + 1.25” BL, 33’s, 456 gears 6-speed.

Looks great!!
Hopefully by spring time I'll have mine looking that nice and complete. Although doing automotive work in the winter won't be to fun and may slow the process down a bit.
The BL with the SL looks great too, I was going back and forth if I wanted to do a BL, may have to do more research on that but it does look great.

Wow! I love to see someone take on a project of this magnitude. The best part is attention to detail on a build like this could yield a completely restored TJ almost like it rolled off the dealers lot 15 years ago. Are you going to put a rebuilt engine/tranny in it, or are you just trying to get it together and driveable?

I'm looking to get it at the runs and drives stage as quick as possible, but paying attention to detail and properly weather treating it to give it the most longevity I can as it is in pretty good shape for it's age and I want to keep it that way. As for the engine and transmission, I'm going for the 4L 6 cylinder, with an auto transmission, so I'm on the hunt for a good one, that won't also break my bank.

I hear you. If I had one that far down, I would be tempted to at least rebuild the engine and a paint job while everything is apart.

Again, I'm blown away that you are even taking on a project like this. Tip of my hat to you, sir!

*Update time*

So yesterday was the day that I brought the tub from the yard to it's new home, but first I has to level the gravel mound that was taking up needed room. I then had to think of a way to hold tub while it's sitting at my house and high enough that I could work underneath without it collapsing on me. At first I did not have any idea on how I would get this done, but with a lot of "hmm, nope that won't work" and some nature's assistance, I found a way. My buddy and I then transfered it from be his trailer to this yet untested metal box, here's the results of the day.
