The unfortunate TJ of the day thread

I like it better than any JK or JL 4 door. A good set of ECGS axles and that is the best Wrangler available for that money.

They've got a lot more in it, if it was all done right, than the cost to build it.

Yea, it just comes down finding someone willing to buy the rig, put D60s (or similar) axles in, buy 40s, buy new wheels, and then have a need for the back doors. There's someone out there.

If I had the cash, I'd be on the way tonight to get it. I have 2 littles that would be a heck of a lot easier to get in. Swap in the 44's and most of the stuff out of my TJ and I'd be set.

These are my unfortunate TJ pics.

:cry::cry:

Still got a bunch of cleaning and have to replace the starter too. Luckily no water in the oil or transmission!!!

I don't think I would. I haven't broken a stock 35 axle, but I've seen several 10 bolt axles (c-clips) broken, and I’ve seen some quarter panels damaged from that.

There's countless examples out there of people trashing their 10 bolts and D35s. My opinion is purely based on the abuse my 10 bolt took from my young dumbass ways in the Navy.

I was burning circles with both 36x14.50 stickies at a paved intersection near my friends house. Went to 37x13.50s and still did dumb shit. I don't think the Dana 35 would have held up.

IIRC, many of the 10 bolt problems were from the OEM posi being a grenade waiting to happen. Once it went, the only thing holding the axles in were disc brakes. I compare that to folks saying you can't run 35s and a posi/locker with stock Dana 35 axles.

Consider checking your diffs just to be safe (unless you know they hold up well to this stuff). My rig arrived to me with a milkshake in the front housing.

First thing I did was change the fluid in both of them!!!

Good advice to always just change the diff fluid after sitting in water.
