Okay, so this thread is going to be one of those never ending threads where we post what we did each weekend. Just thought it would be something fun to share our weekend adventures. Of course pictures are encouraged, especially if it's something really cool!

I'll start. The family and I went to Neskowin, Oregon, which has long been the childhood beach of mine. My family has been going there religiously since the 1920s as I understand it, and it's a tradition that's been carried on through generations. I remember going here from as young as 4 or 5 years old, all the way to adulthood. I have very fond memories of this place and plenty of nostalgia. For those of you that don't know, the Oregon coast is very, very beautiful.

We also climbed to the top of proposal rock (a huge rock that sits right out in the ocean) with an amazing view. Here's some photos:

Funny huh, because we both live in the exact same state! Just goes to show how different the weather can be in different regions of the state.
Yeah amazing...I remember about 20 years ago here in NZ..my mate and I went skiing in the morning, then drove about 4 hours and went for a evening surf on the coast.(you can only do that for about 6 weeks of the year though)

That's how Oregon is as well. You've got the mountain ranges with great skiing, then you've got beautiful coastal ranges. But like you said, you can only do it for about 6 weeks out of the year where you could enjoy both places.

Catch salmon and crab on the morning tide, hunt deer in the afternoon in the coast range, fly fish for brook trout in the evening and camp on the high desert that night. If you hustle a bit. Oregon is glorious for an outdoors person.

One of my jeep buds caught a pic of me heading south down the 101, heading for Monterey. Driving that monster thru traffic sucks!

Parallel parking would be fun too I bet haha

The one good thing I got out of the experience is people tend to get out of my way when I need to merge or change lanes. I try to have a truck driver's perspective and give plenty of notice, and keep my distance, but there are those few "special drivers" that seem to think they own the roads and figure I'll move out of their way so they can complete their text message.

Living in Central Oregon is pretty great. These pictures were taken 40 minutes from our house. We could have left our house at 8:00 am and had lunch on the beach. In the spring, i have skied in the morning and played golf in tee shirt on the same day in the afternoon. Mountains, desert and ocean are all within 3 hours of where I live.
