Thinking of selling my 97tj.
And before I do I wanted to see what y’all thought it was worth.
I’ve done so much to it I’m sure some of you remember cause you helped me with it along the way.
I think I changed everything except the engine and the body.

savvy gas tank skid , Ford 8.8 with C clip eliminator , Chromolly axles, 4:88 gears.
Adams double carden drive shaft.
Extreme short SYE. Belly up kit. 32RH automatic transmission. Savvy upper rear control arms double adjustable.
The rest are CORE 4x4 control arms all with Johnny joints. Also Chromolly shafts up front with a aussy locker front and rear has an OX locker. Steering box and oil pan skid plate. Rock sliders. Hard and soft top , full hard doors and 1/2 hard doors. Waren winch. And probably some things I’ve forgotten. On 35” tires.

Jeeps in my area aren't selling at all. People list them for way more than they're worth and they sit for months until the prices drop significantly. Good luck.
p.s. Clean it up really good and don't post offroad pics when trying to sell it.

Good luck with the sale, I would decide what your bottom dollar is going to be and list it for a few grand higher, you know wiggle room.
I always decide my bottom dollar, then list them for that price as FIRM. It's never taken more than a few days to sell one. Usually I'm the one that changes my mind several times. I also don't think my Jeeps are made of gold and that I'll get back the money I put into them. If I sold my Rubicon today, I would let it go for $10,000 cash............after I remove my Black Magic BL and taillights of course. 🤫

Keep in mind, all vehicles have axles, all vehicles have control arms, all vehicles have gears etc., so while a name brand may help a sell, it won't bring money back dollar-for-dollar, and potential buyer X might not like your choice of _____. If you're trying to maximize your return, I'd figure out what could be easily separated from the Jeep, like hard vs soft top, full vs 1/2 door, savvy skid vs stock, and offer as a total package for one price, or without certain items at a lower price, then sell those after the Jeep is gone.

He’s telling you the truth.

I have seen this with dirt bikes over the years- The entire hobby is very similar to Jeeps-

Amazingly come to think of it.

Tons of aftermarket options and when you go to sell really all people look at are the hours on the machine and does it appear to be well cared for- And anything low hours and stock is typically a fast seller-

Things like automatic clutches and even suspension work don’t really add any value

Personal taste varies so much.

At the same time you have a great looking rig and you’ve made educated decisions and someone that knows a little bit about what they’re looking for is going to appreciate a lot of what you’ve done- That can create desire which can lead to a good price.

I see it in the classic car world constantly. Wheels and tires are a common issue. The guy who wants a stock vehicle will not pay more, and may pay less, for a vehicle sitting on chrome 24" wheels, and the guy who wants 24"s won't pay more for a stock car riding on 14" wheels and period correct reproduction tires.
