I bought an 05 wrangler X. I ordered 33 inch tires for it but I want to put a lift on it as well. Not a big one. I’m being told with that size tire it will look like I have one. Is that true?

For 33's, you'll hear a lot of recommendations to run a 3 to 4 inch lift. For example, 2.5" OME lift paired with a 1.25" body lift gives plenty of room for 33's without losing flex. You can get away without the body lift but you'd have to extend your bumpstops and lose flex. Might work without the bumpstops if you aren't wheeling.

Short answer, No. You will need at least 2" suspension lift and a 1" body lift. Or a straight up 3" or more suspension lift, but now your getting into a more costly lift project. There are tons of posts with the same question on this site, do some reading and it will get clearer.
