Ok I’m not much with computers so I’m throwing this out there I dont know how to link up for rides as I’m coming from California by myself ,my wife will do the easy but no hard core I’m good with moderate. I also mountain bike also not crazy stuff I’m aged challenged so a little slow but look great! Lol. Anyway email is jdubbigdaddy @yahoo.com Send an email if your on the same page and you know when there’s a b ride or atrail to be driven that sounds good. looking forward to good times.

Is a Motorola t801 hand held sufficient to pick up the GMRS stuff? I went forward with buying my CB stuff prior to that announcement.

If I can go, which I hope and plan on going, Ill have my CB radio tuned properly, and my midlan will be fully setup. I dont have a ham, but in the event I only have CB... @Chris... can I use the kiddie handhelds?
Speaking of the kiddie handhelds, amazon has been blasting me with ads for barbie kids walkie talkies for the past weeks since following that link Chris posted. Thanks, lol.

I’m not sure which way to go does anyone know if handheld gmsr is okay or does it have to be hard wired like a cb.

For sure! I’ve got designated people who will be receiving them whether they like them or not 😆

Handheld will be fine in a close group, if a group is stretched out over a distance you might be able to hear someone far away but they might not hear you. The handhelds are mostly around 5 watts of power where the mobiles are 3 to 10 times that power.
You can get a dual band handheld with 8 watts under 40 bucks that you can program GMRS frequencies into that will have a little more power.

I'll be traveling with two little kids & a wife, so I'm not committing to nor organizing anything but I'm team Utah so I can go where I want whenever I want and I will be welcomed. It's in the bylaws.

I'm also planning on playing a round of golf one evening at the local course with my brother in law, if anyone else is interested hit me up!

Wife & I are early birds, if anyone else is.

We want to do some scenic stuff.
Hurrah pass, chicken cornerns, Gemini bridges, etc.

Then do some of the more name ones,
Top of the world, hells revenge, cliffhanger, etc
Hey there PNLB, we are early birds as well! My wife and I are also planning to venture into the other scenic areas as well.

Here‘s one for you, we used to live in Pineville LA. (Back Home in Colorado now), we lived in the Beau Chene sub division.....lol!

Let us know if you and your wife and others want to plan a few rides!

Ha, that's great. I know right where you're talking about, nice houses off fox chaise by ball fields.

Yeah, we are game for whatever, there are a few restrictions on trails & obstacles, not being my jeep but otherwise we want to do/see what we can.

You got it, we were right across the street from the ball fields!

Sounds great, we’ll talk as the festival gets closer.

I'd love to be able to go to this. Be fun to meet you guys and get some strong TJ envy from everything you guys have built. Unfortunately I'm adopting a puppy in late March and don't think bringing a dog that young before finishing vaccinations is a good idea.

Next year, though... Excited to see all the pics and videos from the trip anyway!

Team Colorado-Red-Shift-on-35s-Everyone-Except-Wisconsin-is-Invited-to-Come-Along-with-Us is now official for the first half of TJ Fest!
I don’t know if anyone would be interested or not, but maybe TEAM COLORADO - could set up a “Rendezvous Point” to convoy out to mohab???

I’m headed out Friday morning from Denver area. If anyone is passing through a little earlier, I’d be happy to convoy with whomever is passing through in the morning. I’ll have a master mechanic in my passenger seat. No TJ left behind!
There is a good meetup spot just before your first big highway hill climb into the mountains for those eastern flat landers.

I still need to figure out if I am going to have time between end of tax season and finals week to go to TJ fest but if I do end up having time, I'll likely be trying to join up with y'all.

I think I might be spending Thursday night in Denver, if so I will be leaving Friday morning for Moab. Unfortunately, my travel plans are usually spur of the moment.
